Independent Bottlers

Duncan Taylor, Glenlochy, Distilled 1980, bottled 2007, 54.8% ABV

Rarest of the Rare collection, cask No. 2454, bottle No. 99 of only 278

Typical price of this bottle; €€€€€

Glass: Classic Malt

Colour: 18 carat gold

Nose: Slow to build, but after 3-5 minutes malt, popcorn, fresh herbs (not quite mint) then eventually very aromatic rubber with hints of open-air swimming pool.

Palate: Initially very smooth and creamy, but it soon warms across the palate with a fresh, leafy coconut.

With 4 drops of water: More fresh leafiness on the nose. More spicy and fresh on the palate.

Finish: Long and much longer with water.

Overall Impression: A very aromatically fresh whisky with a touch of leafiness. What I would call an outdoor or countryside dram. Very good!
